Hi, I’m Riley

Director of Advancement and Outreach

Riley Mulcahy is a nonprofit leader, community builder, and storyteller working at the intersection of neurodiversity, education, and social impact.

As Director of Advancement and Outreach at Compass High School, Riley leads fundraising, communications, admissions outreach, and strategic partnerships to expand opportunities for neurodivergent students and strengthen the school's long-term impact. A proud Compass alum (Class of 2018), he returned after earning a B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Saint Mary's College of California, bringing both lived experience and professional expertise to his work.

Riley is also the Founder and Executive Director of The RILEY Project, a nonprofit dedicated to amplifying neurodivergent voices through storytelling and advancing systems change in education. Through his leadership, he has helped cultivate partnerships across the education, healthcare, technology, and nonprofit sectors while building platforms that connect advocacy, community, and action.

Beyond his core roles, Riley serves as a Board Member of Changing Perspectives, an Advisory Board Member for Cognition Labs, a member of the Young Adult Leadership Council for the National Center for Learning Disabilities, an Advisory Council Member for The Parent Venture, and a member of Stanford University's Neurodiversity Summit Steering Committee.

Across all of his work, Riley focuses on building connective tissue—between students and systems, stories and strategy, and communities and opportunity. He believes lasting change happens when people feel seen, understood, and empowered to contribute their strengths.

Outside of work, Riley is an avid live music fan, community connector, and someone who's always ready with a thoughtful playlist—or a strong taco recommendation.
