Hi, I’m Riley

Community Outreach and Development Coordinator

Riley Mulcahy is a community builder, storyteller, and nonprofit leader working at the intersection of neurodiversity, education, and systems change.

A proud alum of Compass High School (Class of 2018), Riley returned after earning his B.A. in English with a focus in Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s College of California. He now serves as Development and Community Outreach Coordinator, where he leads efforts across admissions, fundraising, communications, and strategic partnerships to strengthen and grow the school’s impact.

Riley brings nearly a decade of experience in disability advocacy, strategic outreach, and inclusive storytelling. At Compass, he has driven significant growth in visibility and community engagement—leading fundraising initiatives, expanding partnerships across the Bay Area, and helping shape mission-aligned enrollment practices.

He is also the Founder and Executive Director of The RILEY Project, a nonprofit dedicated to amplifying neurodivergent voices through storytelling and advancing systems change in education.

Beyond his core roles, Riley contributes across the broader ecosystem:

  • Board Member, Changing Perspectives

  • Advisory Board Member, Cognition Labs

  • Young Adult Leadership Council, National Center for Learning Disabilities

  • Advisory Council Member, The Parent Venture

  • Neurodiversity Summit Steering Committee, Stanford University

Across all of his work, Riley focuses on building connective tissue—between students and systems, stories and strategy, and communities and opportunity.

Outside of work, he’s an avid live music fan, community connector, and someone who’s always ready with a thoughtful playlist—or a strong taco recommendation.
