Andrea Adelmann brings more than 25 years of nonprofit experience at the national and local level to Compass High School. She co-founded Compass High School in 2012 after identifying an educational need for her own daughter as well as other students in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With a corporate background in Finance and Accounting, Andrea joined Compass as the school’s Chief Financial Officer after her daughter’s graduation in 2017. Concurrently she serves as Board Treasurer for The Shaken Baby Alliance, a national nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Andrea had a successful career as a hotel controller with Marriott International in northern and southern California and New Mexico. She is married and the mother of two young adults, both living full, independent lives, one in Providence, Rhode Island and one in Manhattan, NY. She holds a BA in German from UC Davis and pursued graduate coursework in Accounting at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University.
